New stuff at Red Sneaker

Well lots of changes here at Red Sneaker.
1. My host, GoDaddy has messed everything up! It appears to be mostly fixed...things like the URL resolving are just little things I like to keep working on a regular basis.
2. Due to the hosting issues, the blog address is now http://www.redsneaker.net instead of the previous http://blog.redsneaker.net. It's tiny, but very big at the same time. FYI, links to the old address will always work.
3. I got to see the insides of the local internet radio station, URL Radio (http://www.urlradio.net) and get a free t-shirt! Woo Hoo!
In a totally unrelated venture, I am cellphone shopping. Being the geek that I am, I really enjoy this process. I get to compare and contrast what each place will do and then at the end be rewarded with a shiney new object that blinks.
The hunt has begun and this time, we are adding a line for Mark, who thinks he's the only freshman in high school who doesn't have a cellphone yet. We've tried to instill in the lad that being unique is a positive thing.
If only he was the only kid without one, we wouldn't have to buy him one...we could just call all his friends to get ahold of him. Alas this is not the case.
Hopefully by this time next week, the city will have a few frazzled cell-phone sales people and we will have new gadgets that beep in our pockets. Cross your fingers.

Truth from a 4 year old

It was a gray Sunday morning just this past week. I went grocery shopping at the local and convenient food store. As I was pushing around my squeaky and wobbly cart, I end up next to a mother and 4 year old daughter. I over hear their conversation.
Mom: "Summer is coming"
Daughter: "I know, but it's so hard to wait!"

It was at the moment that I wanted to tell the little girl that everyone for a 90 mile radius had the exact same feelings as her. It is SOOOOO hard to wait for nice weather.
Growing up, the weekend the bikes came out of storage was like Christmas. Instead of presents, you got your bike and the one valuable thing that came with your bike---Adventure.
To me, my bike was like the Light Saber was to Luke Skywalker or the whip to Indiana Jones. It was my link to freedom and adventure.
I could have as much adventure as I wanted as long as it was on our block. Ah, Freedom!
